The history of Hamon Glass Company is intriguing. Several family members have worked in glass over the years. Robert's brothers Leo, Richard and Don all worked in the company at various times, along with Robert's sister Dorothy. Ultimately, Robert's name became synonymous with Hamon Glass, and he is the only child of Okey and Mamie to make glassblowing his career. Robert's wife, Veronica, helped to run the company, and sometimes assisted Bob in designing paperweights. Below, Donald and Robert are featured in a photograph, which I took in the late 1990s. The setting is the Hamon Glass Studio, where the two were working on sculptures and other art glass pieces. It was always a pleasure for me to observe my uncles working in glass, and nowhere did I feel more at home than in the studio.
